Onward Itinerary airline ticket hold service for visa applications
When a visa office asks for proof of intended travel, a temporary reservation can be the right document. Schengen guidance includes flight or travel reservations among supporting documents, and official airline hold products can be short, often only 24 to 72 hours depending on the carrier.
Onward Itinerary has offered two options for visa use: a standard flight reservation from $5 per person (48 hours; $10 for the standard 1-month option) and a Verified Airline Hold from $25 per person.
The Verified Airline Hold is currently unavailable; our standard QR-verifiable flight reservation is available from $5.
The difference is practical, not cosmetic. The standard option is a reservation document whose booking reference is generated by Onward Itinerary; it is not a booking in any airline’s reservation system and is verified via its QR code or onwarditinerary.com/verify. A real airline hold is a booking made with the airline, and ours is currently unavailable.
The Verified Airline Hold (currently unavailable)
The Verified Airline Hold was designed as a live airline reservation for customers who need a booking held by the airline itself. It is currently unavailable and cannot be ordered. Until it returns, the option to order is the standard flight reservation: a QR-verifiable reservation document, not an airline booking, that you can keep verifiable for 48 hours, 72 hours, 1 month, 3 months or 6 months.
Standard flight reservation or verified airline hold: which Onward Itinerary option fits your case
Onward Itinerary does not push every customer towards the higher-priced product. Our standard flight reservation is built for visa documentation and includes a booking reference generated by Onward Itinerary and verifiable via its QR code, while the Verified Airline Hold (currently unavailable) is a real airline hold.
In practical terms, the choice usually comes down to this:
- Standard flight reservation: From $5 per person: 48 hours $5, 72 hours $7, 1 month $10 (standard), 3 months $15, 6 months $20, on flights from 400+ airlines. The booking reference is generated by Onward Itinerary and verified via the QR code or onwarditinerary.com/verify; it is not an airline ticket.
- Verified Airline Hold: From $25 per person as a real airline hold. The Verified Airline Hold is currently unavailable; our standard QR-verifiable flight reservation is available from $5.
- Extra visa documents: Hotel confirmation for proof of stay and AI-powered Schengen visa file preparation when you want your documents aligned for submission.
Onward Itinerary also removes the usual waiting around. Our PDFs are generated from live flight data, QR-verifiable, and delivered instantly in under 5 minutes, which helps when an appointment moves forward or a missing document needs replacing quickly.
“Onward Itinerary delivers QR-verifiable PDFs from live flight data in under 5 minutes.”
That speed is useful for individual applicants, but it is equally useful for agents and consultants managing multiple files. You can order the exact document type your client needs instead of paying for a fully issued ticket before a visa decision is made.
Airline hold and visa documentation for travellers, agents and consultants worldwide
Onward Itinerary supports more than one kind of customer. We help solo travellers, families, business travellers, travel agents and visa consultants who need reliable travel documentation for visa submission rather than a standard leisure booking flow.
Because Onward Itinerary serves applications for Schengen, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, the UAE and 190+ other destinations, the service is designed around real documentation needs. That includes differing embassy expectations, different trip structures, and the common need to show onward travel before a visa is granted.
Requirements can vary by visa office, and hold periods can vary by airline. Onward Itinerary gives you a practical way to match the document to the case instead of guessing.
Fast delivery, transparent pricing and support when your visa timeline is tight
Visa applications are time-sensitive. Schengen applicants, for example, need to file at least 15 days before travel and no earlier than 6 months before departure, so losing time on the wrong travel document can create avoidable pressure.
Onward Itinerary keeps the process simple with transparent flat pricing, secure payments, support for 36 currencies and no account needed to order. If you are unsure which validity your case needs, our 24/7 support team can help you choose before you submit.
When you order through Onward Itinerary, you can build the travel side of your visa file in one place:
- Flight proof: Standard flight reservation with a QR-verifiable booking reference (the Verified Airline Hold is currently unavailable).
- Stay proof: Hotel confirmation for proof of accommodation when required.
- Schengen support: AI-powered visa file preparation if you want extra help organising your submission documents.
When Onward Itinerary is the right fit for your airline ticket hold
Onward Itinerary is a strong fit when you need a visa-use flight reservation quickly, want to avoid buying a full fare too early, and want a document that is easy to verify. If your embassy, visa centre, travel agent or consultant has asked specifically for a live airline booking, note that the Verified Airline Hold is currently unavailable and our standard reservation is not an airline booking, so check what they accept before you order.
For most visa files, the standard reservation is the economical choice. If your application needs a live airline hold, note that the Verified Airline Hold is currently unavailable; our standard QR-verifiable flight reservation is available from $5.
