Basics

What is a dummy ticket and is it legal?
A dummy ticket — also called a flight reservation, flight itinerary, or onward ticket — is a reservation-style travel document issued without paying for a full ticket. Using a genuine reservation document for a visa application is legal as long as you present it as what it is: a reservation, not a paid ticket. Each Onward Itinerary document carries a unique booking reference and a QR code; embassies and third parties can verify it instantly on our portal at onwarditinerary.com/verify. It is not an airline ticket and is not held in the airline’s reservation system.
What's the difference between a dummy ticket and a real ticket?
A real ticket is a confirmed, paid-for seat that allows you to actually fly. A dummy ticket (flight reservation) is a reservation-style document intended for visa applications — it carries a QR-verifiable booking reference, but is not paid for and cannot be used for check-in or boarding. For visa applications, most consulates ask for proof of intended travel rather than proof of purchase. Our reservation documents cost from $5 (48 hours; $10 for the standard 1-month option) vs $500–$2,000+ for real tickets.
What is an onward ticket and why do I need one?
An onward ticket is proof that you have travel plans to leave a country after your visit. Many countries (Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, USA, UK) require airlines to check for onward travel at check-in before boarding, and without it you can be denied boarding. Many travellers show an onward reservation document instead of buying a full return fare, but each airline decides what it accepts, so check your airline’s policy. See our onward ticket guide.
Is a flight reservation enough for a visa application?
For the flight requirement, yes — a flight reservation satisfies the proof-of-intended-travel (flight itinerary) requirement that many embassies ask for (each consulate decides what it accepts), and you do not need to buy a paid ticket before approval. But it is only one document. A complete application usually also needs proof of accommodation (a hotel booking confirmation), travel medical insurance (a minimum of EUR 30,000 for a Schengen visa, per Article 15 of the EU Visa Code), proof of funds, and a cover letter. A flight reservation supports your application; it does not by itself guarantee approval.
Do embassies verify flight reservations?
They can — which is why the document must be genuine, not a photoshopped PDF. Every Onward Itinerary reservation carries Live QR Verification: embassy or visa-centre staff scan the QR code (or enter the reference at onwarditinerary.com/verify) to confirm the document was issued by us and is still valid. It is not an airline booking, so it will not show on airline websites. A fabricated or expired document is a fast route to rejection.
Pricing & Refunds
5 questions
How much does a flight reservation for visa cost?
Onward Itinerary flight reservation documents are priced by validity period, per person: 48 hours ($5), 72 hours ($7), 1 month ($10, the standard option), 3 months ($15) or 6 months ($20). This includes a QR-verifiable booking reference and a professional PDF itinerary.
Can I get a refund if my visa application is denied?
Here's how refunds work on our service: you can request a full refund any time before you download your PDF. Once you've downloaded the PDF, the order is considered delivered and becomes non-refundable — this is because the reservation document has been issued, a booking reference assigned, and the QR verification record is live on our portal.
Specifically for visa denial: a rejection caused solely by the flight reservation is extremely rare. If you haven't downloaded the PDF yet and you receive a denial, you can still request a refund via [email protected]. Cases after download are reviewed case-by-case with written embassy proof, but refunds aren't guaranteed at that stage.
How long can a flight reservation be valid?
You can choose from 5 validity options: 48 hours, 72 hours, 1 month, 3 months or 6 months. The booking reference remains QR-verifiable through our portal throughout the selected period. Choose a validity that covers your entire embassy processing window — from submission to decision — so the document is still valid when the embassy checks it.
Can I edit my flight reservation after purchase?
You can move your reservation to a new date or flight yourself in Manage Booking for a non-refundable change fee (currently $7). For name corrections contact support; a new route needs a new booking.
How do you compare to other flight reservation services?
Onward Itinerary offers prices from $5 (48-hour validity; standard 1-month option $10), instant automated delivery, and broad coverage (400+ airlines in our database). Every document we issue carries a unique QR-verifiable booking reference that any third party can check on our portal. Compare current prices and features on each provider’s own website.
Process & Delivery
4 questions
How long does it take to receive the flight reservation?
Flight reservations are delivered instantly — typically within 2–5 minutes after successful payment. You'll receive an email with a PDF containing your flight itinerary, PNR code, passenger details, and airline information. No manual processing delays — our system prepares your reservation automatically the moment your payment is confirmed.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and regional payment methods like PayFast for South African customers. All payments are processed through SSL-encrypted, PCI-compliant gateways. We never store your full card details on our servers.
Do I need to provide passport details?
You need to provide your full name as shown on your passport, nationality, and date of birth. Passport number is optional but recommended for more professional-looking documentation. The name on the reservation must exactly match your passport and visa application — names cannot be changed after booking.
Can I book a round-trip flight reservation?
Yes. When searching for flights, select "Round Trip" and specify both your outbound and return dates. A round-trip itinerary is usually expected for Schengen visas and helps show intent to return for many other visas. The price is the same for round-trip as one-way — no extra charge.
Embassies & Visas
3 questions
Which embassies and countries accept flight reservations?
Customers use our flight reservations for visa applications to many countries, including the Schengen Area (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands), United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, UAE/Dubai, Japan, Thailand, Turkey, New Zealand, South Korea, China, India, South Africa and Singapore, submitted through centres such as VFS Global, TLScontact, BLS International and CGI Federal. Each consulate decides what it accepts, so always check your own checklist.
Do you provide flight reservations for Schengen visa applications?
Yes. Schengen consulates usually ask for a round-trip flight reservation; the EU Visa Code lists a “reservation of or return or round ticket” as evidence, so a paid ticket is not required. Our reservation documents are prepared for Schengen applications at centres such as VFS Global and TLScontact; each consulate decides what it accepts.
Can I get a flight reservation for a UK visitor visa?
Yes, although it is optional: UKVI’s supporting-documents guide lists flight bookings (unless transiting) among documents that are less useful as evidence. If you include one, staff can check our document via its Live QR code. The decision is made by UKVI.
Trust & Verification
5 questions
How can my PNR be verified?
Every document carries Live QR Verification — a secure QR code that opens our real-time verification portal at onwarditinerary.com/verify. Embassy staff, employers, or any third party can scan it (or enter the reference manually) to confirm the document during the validity period you selected. The reference is issued by Onward Itinerary, so it will not appear on airline websites.
Is my personal information secure?
Yes. We use bank-level 256-bit SSL encryption for all data transmission. Your passport and personal details are stored encrypted in compliance with GDPR and international data protection standards. We never share your information with third parties, and we automatically delete passport details 90 days after the reservation expires.
What airlines are available in your system?
We cover 400+ airlines worldwide, including major carriers: British Airways, Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad, Turkish Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, Delta, United, Air Canada, Qantas, South African Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, and hundreds of regional carriers.
Who runs Onward Itinerary?
Onward Itinerary (onwarditinerary.com) is an online travel-documentation service. It is not an embassy, airline or visa authority. You can reach us at support@onwarditinerary.com.
Do you offer hotel confirmations for visa applications?
Yes. We provide professional hotel confirmation documents for visa applications starting at $10. The confirmation includes hotel name, address, check-in/out dates, room type, and guest details. Formatted for embassy and visa-centre submissions; each consulate decides what it accepts. It is a document for your visa file, not a paid hotel stay.
